VICE CITY: NEW YORK IN THE 80s... In search of more information about the substance, Ash flees to Los Angeles with a band of allies, where he clashes with Yau-Si, an alluring and duplicitous young assassin. Drawn in by Yau-Si, one of Ash's so-called allies betrays him to the Chinese mafia. Once again Ash is handed over to the rapacious Dino Golzine, who will do anything to cash in on Banana Fish!
The place was New York City; the time was the city’s violence 1980s. Corsican crime lord “Papa” Dino Golzine took in runaway Ash Lynx as a boy, abusing him sexually even while grooming him as the heir to his empire. Ash rebelled, gathering his own gang of young street thugs, loyal to Ash’s intelligence, charisma and deadly aim. Ash’s uneasy truce with his “mentor” shattered over Dino’s plot to exploit the same nightmarish drug that drove Ash’s late brother Griff mad in Vietnam–a drug code-named “Banana Fish.”
After a failed attempt to kill Golzine, Ash flees to Los Angeles with a small group of allies: Griff’s old army buddy turned-reporter Max Lobo, Japanese photographer Ibe and his ward Eiji, and Chinese gangbanger Shorter Wong. Looking for Alexis and Abraham Dawson–the brother scientists who synthesized “Banana Fish,” the fugitives find neither, but foil a plot at Dawson’s residence to kidnap his Chinese adopted son, Yau-si. Lobo and Ash encounter evidence that Dino’s plans for the drug involve the cooperation of high-ranking members of the U.S. government. But the Corsican mafioso has many more partners in this scheme ready to strike–including the epicene young assassin who calls himself Yau-Si....
